It is inspired by the Picturestone in Gotland, Sweden, that has the original design. The artist's interpretation differs slightly from the most common one. He sees her as the \"first witch\", hence the runic writing \"wurmawikko-hagatusi\" in the Elder Futhark. The knotwork design matches the 600s and the style of the Picture Stone.
