All our armrings are made in either solid bronze, solid Sterling Silver 925 or in Stainless Steel and can be adjusted to fit most arms. We also have leather bracelets and King Chain bracelets. During the Viking Age, armrings were carried both as decorative pieces and as ‘money’ used for purchases, since they were often made from silver or gold. Armrings were also given by powerful Viking chieftains to secure allegiance from their followers. Bestowing such gifts was a demonstration of wealth and power, and the warrior who accepted the gift pledged his loyalty to the chieftain through doing so. This has led to armrings gifted in that manner to be known as ‘Oath Rings’.
