Valhalla, the "Hall of the Slain", is according to Viking belief and mythology where the brave who fell in battle went. It also had a significant meaning among the living left behind, where it served as a hall of remembrance that kept the brave deeds of the fallen in the tales and stories. One of the ritual toasts contained a reference to this where it was made to "memorable deeds and those who have passed on".
