Rooted in ancient Finnish tradition, the jouhikko is a bowed lyre known for its haunting, resonant sound. This modern 3-stringed version is crafted from a linden with a birch soundboard, staying true to its rustic origins while enhancing tone and projection.

The body is carved from a single piece of wood. A shellac finish adds subtle elegance, and an internal support structure ensures rich, sustained resonance with that unmistakable Nordic character. It comes ready to play with a linden wood bow strung with horsehair and a block of violin rosin.
