A set with 10 Viking Age coin reproductions based of the rare 9th Century coins found in Ribe, Denmark in 2018. They come in a bag as seen in the picture, which makes them perfect to hand out as a gift.
The motifs are quite interesting: One side has a deer almost kissing a snake, with a Valknut symbol placed below the deer and what looks like a sun above it. The other side shows a Viking longship with a fish below it symbolising the sea. The deer is most likely Eikthyrnir - a stag that stands on the roof of Valhalla, the hall of Odin, where warriors dying in battle end up. The Valknut symbol would thus represent Valhalla.
The Valknut (warrior’s knot) is an ancient symbol that appears on runestones as early on as the 8th century. It is associated with the god Odin and symbolizes his power to lay bonds upon the mind, turning men helpless in battle, or making them fearless and filled with battle-madness, intoxication and inspiration.
