This full sized flag is based on the Raven Banner that was flown by Viking Chieftains during the Viking Age. In addition to the raven imagery, Grimfrost is written onto it with runes. The runes in the lower part read "svartan svan hjaldrs", translating to "the black swan of battle", which is a Norse poetic name for the raven.
The Raven Banner is believed to have been connected to Odin and could have been used to strike fear into one's enemies, or used as a ritual symbol to declare that the fallen were given to Odin. The design is based on Viking sagas and on depictions in Viking Age artwork, where the banner is shown as triangular, with a rounded outside edge on which there hung a series of tabs or tassels.
