Comfortable kyrtill (overtunic) based on the wool garment found in Kragelund Fattigmose Bog, Denmark, which is dated to the 11th century. Just like the original, it is made it 2/1 twill weave in two colors and comes with side, back and front gores. The front gore is intentionally split up, as it most likely was in the original as well. The neckline is unusual, being cut vertically rather than horizontally. The sleeve construction is also more complicated than in other period tunics, being assembled out of an upper piece, two lower pieces and gussets.
The original can be seen at the National Museum of Denmark. Wear it over a linen tunic for looks and warmth during chilly weather.
The original tunic was worn by a giant of a man, measuring 190 cm / 6'3". Considering that the average height of all men back then was shorter than today, he must have been an imposing character. His tunic was made out of 2/1 twill weave wool where the thread colors were greyish light brown and white.
