This is a set of handmade bone dice based on archaeological Viking Age finds from Sweden. The set comes with a handstitched leather pouch and rules for two dice games.

Dice games (Old Norse: Taflkast) were popular during the Viking Age. A dice pouch was easily carried in the belt and all that was required to play the game was a flat surface.

Once again, I was delighted to experience fast delivery and good quality products at good prices.

My purchases this time were the Taflkast Viking dice game, with bone dice and storage pouch, and a chestnut brown, Viking leather belt with an iron ring ‘buckle’. Both were well made, look and feel great. The belt is made from a very good quality leather which has a beautifully burnished edge, finishing it off nicely.

The thing I love about Grimfrost is the fact that they offer a variety of products, from historical reproductions and accessories to branded contemporary wear, which are all high quality and very much worth what you pay for them.

The game rules Grimfrost provided may be a bit bland however both act as a good foundation for putting together one's own unique game and experience. The die and bag feel extremely good in quality and durability, the bone die make for an amazing addition to my collection and leave a satisfying sound when manipulated across any surface. The bag cinch is really intuitive and overall feels very well made.

You are in the woods camped getting ready for battle the next day and you want to enjoy your night so you pull out your bag of dice "TAFLKAST". You have 2 games you can play SWAP (Old Norse; Byta) or TRICK AND BOAST (Old Norse: Bragthr).
You pick SWAP first its a nice easy dice game to play just chilling, then you decide to get serious and do some betting and you change over to TRICK AND BOAST. You need to win back some of your spoils you lost the other night.
These 2 Dice games are great to pass the time away and are enjoyable to play, either outside when you are at camp or in the back yard, or inside your longhouse when its raining or snowing outside. I have enjoyed my TAFLKAST since it arrived on horseback from my Viking brothers! Kids like it also! Enjoy!!
