He stands before a thunder storm, holding Mjölnir - his magical hammer that was capable of levelling mountains and was so heavy that no one else was able to lift it from the ground. The two goats, Tanngrisnir ("teeth-barer, snarler") and Tanngnjóstr ("teeth grinder"), that pull his chariot can be seen next to the hammer.
