A reproduction of the seax from the 700-900s that was found 2021 in Skälby, Sweden. The unique, beautifully carved wooden handle on the original find was preserved, giving a rare glimpse into the Viking Age woodwork designs.

The amazing handle has been reproduced on this seax, which is a time consuming task. Together with the blade it results in a unique Viking Age piece of equipment.

The sax (English: seax) is a long knife characterized by a large, single-edged blade worn horizontally inside a scabbard attached to the belt, with the edge of the blade upwards. It was historically seen with Germanic peoples, and gave among other things the Saxons their name.
