Battle ready Viking shield boss made from strong 12 gauge steel with 5 pre-drilled holes. It comes with 5 hand forged iron nails used to attach it with. The nails are hammered through the wooden shield and hammered sideways on the inside to secure the shield boss in place.

The shield boss protected the warrior's hand that held the shield. Shields were the most common form of defense among the Vikings. They were famously and successfully used in formations, such as the shield wall. Made from fir, alder, poplar or linden, shields were often covered with linen and given a rawhide rim to increase their durability.
