This 9 cm (3.6 inches) tall bronze figurine depicts Freyr, the Viking god. It is a reproduction of the original figurine that was found in Rällinge, Sweden, and is dated to the 11th Century. It should be mentioned that a phallic symbol is visible on the figurine. Freyr was associated with sacral kingship, virility and prosperity, as well as with sunshine and fair weather, and was pictured as a phallic fertility god. It was said that Freyr "bestows peace and pleasure on mortals".
Small figurines like this one represented the god in question to the Vikings, just as the large, wooden statues in their temples. Smaller figurines were kept in homes to bestow the god's blessing upon the house and family.
