Vikings used necklaces with animals or beasts biting onto a ring where pendants were hung. This variant consists of a King Chain ending in Járngreipr, the iron gauntlets of Thor, that hold onto the pendant ring. The gauntlets have "THOR VIKI" written on them with runes, which translates to "Thor protect/bless". As the name implies, this is the king of all chains and it was seen as a sign of success and power among the Vikings.
Our King Chain is 100% handmade from Stainless Steel, which results in a piece of fantastic jewelry that will never rust. The process of crafting it by hand is very time-consuming, since each small link is added one by one to the chain. The chain comes with a lobster clasp that keeps this massive piece secured around your neck, as well as a pendant ring that can be opened and closed easily.
Járngreipr (Old Norse: "iron grippers") are the iron gauntlets of the god Thor. He needs the gauntlets to handle Mjölnir, his powerful hammer. The blessing "Thor Viki" is seen on Viking Age runestones, such as the Sonder Kirkeby runestone and the Velanda runestone.
